How polygamy protects your property rights

A man had two small children. He bought a bicycle for one child. He did not have enough money to buy another bicycle. The next day, the second child came to him crying and begging to have a bicycle of his own. The father asked his first son to share the bicycle with his brother. His first son was having so much fun with the bicycle, he refused his fathers request. He said "Later papa, I'm still having so much fun with it!" The father looked sternly at his first son. "Give the bike to your brother". The second son squealed with happiness and raced away on the bicycle, leaving the first boy with tears leaking down his cheeks. Was justice done? Most of us would agree it was not. But try to defend your intuition from the scripture. Which of God's Laws will explicitly and clearly support your position?

Because modern day Christians reject polygamy, they do not meditate on Bible verses that deal with polygamy very explicitly. But it is God's Law on polygamy that gives you authority to conclusively state that the scenario in the previous paragraph was unjust!

Exodus 21:7-10 And if a man sell his daughter to be a maidservant, she shall not go out as the menservants do. If she please not her master, who hath betrothed her to himself, then shall he let her be redeemed: to sell her unto a strange nation he shall have no power, seeing he hath dealt deceitfully with her. And if he have betrothed her unto his son, he shall deal with her after the manner of daughters. If he take him another wife; her food, her raiment, and her duty of marriage, shall he not diminish.

Do you see what happened there? A woman is a dependant, just like a child or a slave. If a man gives a woman a promise and she becomes his dependant, he cannot take advantage of her dependancy and treat her property rights as if they are his own. If a man wants a second wife, he must come up with some new money and resources. He cannot diminish the lifestyle of a first wife just to add to his own power.

However, a wife can SELL her rights. This is illustrated by Rachel and Leah, the wives and cousins of our ancestor Isaac (Yitzak). Look carefully at the outcome; God not only permitted the trading, buying and selling of sex between these two sister wives, he rewarded Leah with the ultimate reward; a child, a dependant of her own.

Genesis 30:14-16 And Reuben went in the days of wheat harvest, and found mandrakes in the field, and brought them unto his mother Leah. Then Rachel said to Leah, Give me, I pray thee, of thy son's mandrakes. And she said unto her, Is it a small matter that thou hast taken my husband? and wouldest thou take away my son's mandrakes also? And Rachel said, Therefore he shall lie with thee to night for thy son's mandrakes. And Jacob came out of the field in the evening, and Leah went out to meet him, and said, Thou must come in unto me; for surely I have hired thee with my son's mandrakes. And he lay with her that night. And God hearkened unto Leah, and she conceived, and bare Jacob the fifth son. And Leah said, God hath given me my hire, because I have given my maiden to my husband: and she called his name Issachar.

When you reject God's Laws on polygamy, you also reject his Law that says "thou shalt not steal". God's Law on polygamy teaches us one aspect of what constitutes a right of property. Theft is a violation of anothers property rights. If you kill your neighbors ox, and leave it on his property without taking it, you have still committed an act of theft, you have denied your neighbor the use of his property. Each Law is multi dimensional; it connects to every other piece of the puzzle.

By rejecting the polygamy and slavery laws, Christians are abandoning the laws that protect them from eminent domain seizures of their property by the government! If you have the right to repurpose, take back, or otherwise dispose of your childrens property, then the State has those same rights to YOUR property. The State, remember, proclaims its parens patriae powers, which means it considers itself the ultimate parent in the land. As below, so above, people. Stop sinning, and your government will stop sinning. You might think the government is full of assholes. But the government is made up of people just like you. Government employees are hired from among your number. They are a direct reflection of you. That is why people get the government they deserve. It can't be any other way.

King Ahab had to wait for his wife Jezebel to kill Naboth by slander and trickery before taking Naboths field. If eminent domain is a Godly prerogative of government, why didn't Ahab use it? Naboth had the right answer, based on the principle that a master does not control his slaves property:

1 Kings 21:1-3 And it came to pass after these things, that Naboth the Jezreelite had a vineyard, which was in Jezreel, hard by the palace of Ahab king of Samaria. And Ahab spake unto Naboth, saying, Give me thy vineyard, that I may have it for a garden of herbs, because it is near unto my house: and I will give thee for it a better vineyard than it; or, if it seem good to thee, I will give thee the worth of it in money. And Naboth said to Ahab, Jehovah forbid it me, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers unto thee.

Because Christians abandon the lessons of Scripture, they lack moral authority to back them up on some very fundamental principles of justice, and suffer the consequences in their own courtrooms.

Christian society will not be just or humane until it brings back Biblical polygamy, slavery, patriarchy, and every other heavenly instutitution, commandment, and instruction outlined in the divine scriptures.
