Kosher Sushi at last

Seaweed is not on the list of foods God gave us to eat. It is not an herb of the field, nor does it have fins and scales.

Sushi is a Japanese snack popular among lefties and Liberals of all types. From a Godly point of view, most sushi is forbidden. Much sushi is forbidden because it contains eel, squid, shrimp, and other toxic, un-kosher meats. But most of it is forbidden because it is wrapped with kelp, a type of sea-weed. The ever-popular California roll is one such sushi that was forbidden. Until now. At church last Sabbath, Pat ******* gave me a clipping from the Family Circle magazine. Thanks to a new product from Frieda's, Torah-keepers can resume eating a large portion of the sushi family: California rolls. Pat's boyfriend requested I make her last name anonymous.

A NEW SPIN ON SUSHI

Making your own California roll just got a little more colorful. The sushi wraps from Frieda's Specialty Produce Company come in pale yellow, green, orange and pink and are even easier to use than traditional seaweed. Made of egg and soy protein, they are flexible, durable and only 20 calories each! In supermarket produce departments, $13 for a package of 20.

Notice, Frieda's sushi wraps are made of egg and soy protein. Both of these are kosher. I personally dislike soy and avoid it wherever possible. However, soy is not necessarily forbidden by God. Most soy on the market is both irradiated and genetically modified, making it forbidden by God, but if those problems were cleared up, it would be ok. Soy has a lot of estrogen. Estrogen is a hormone which acts like anabolic steroids. Like anabolic steroids, soy makes men's testicles shrink. Unlike anabolic steroids, soy may help women who desire larger breasts.

Summary: Nigiri sushi is Torah compliant, as long as it is made with salmon or tuna. Maki sushi, which is normally wrapped in sea-weed, may be eaten as long as it is made with Frieda's product, and is made from salmon, tuna, and other lawful foods. Sashimi made of salmon or tuna are Torah compliant. Sashimi is just slices of raw fish.
